Beyond the Recipe
I enjoy eating, and from time to time I also cook for myself. Whenever I cook, I am reminded of the importance of recipes. Following the ingredients, measurements, and procedures is essential for achieving consistent results. At the same time, however, I believe that this alone does not create truly good food. It is also important to observe the condition of the ingredients, judge the right level of heat, and adjust the flavor while imagining the enjoyment of the person who will eat it. There is a level of care and thoughtfulness that cannot be captured
by procedures alone.I believe this idea also applies to management and business. Running a company requires rules, systems, numbers, and plans. However, simply operating them correctly is not enough. True trust is built by understanding what customers are really looking for, recognizing the challenges faced on the front lines, and making the extra effort to respond thoughtfully. As I move forward in my career, I would like to continue valuing both following procedures and putting genuine care into my work.
