Innovative Technology for Angel Hair Reduction

Angel hair occurs during die cutting process, the products which minimize it are sought.

Steel Rule used: NCD760 0.7 × 23.6 4575 ∠60° (Long Center Bevel)

SOLUTION

Angel hair caused by blade edge deformation leads to catching, which results in delamination and angel hair generation. By designing the first bevel with an obtuse angle,
we can suppress blade edge deformation from excessive cutting pressure and reduce angel hair. The second bevel is designed with a 43° base angle,
making it compatible with existing cutting machines.
We propose the long center bevel "NCD760," which effectively suppresses blade edge deformation and significantly reduces angel hair generation.

Result

By suppressing edge deformation during die cutting, our customers were able to reduce angle hair.
Since the first bevel has an obtuse angle, it effectively holds down the product during cutting, which also helped prevent surface layer peeling of the paper.
