“Nakayama standards” are far more rigorous than JIS standards for product quality.

A change in our quality control system took place about 40 years ago when the current chairman, Osamu Nakayama, joined the company. At that time, we had to admit that our products were inferior to European blades in all aspects of appearance and performance. In response to this, we embarked on a tenacious mission to “catch up with and surpass” European blades.

In addition to efforts to improve quality, we quantify our quality evaluations and make efforts to render quality visible so as to realize more precise product manufacturing. Currently, there are many items for inspection including thickness, height, hardness, bevel angle, hardening depth and more, and for each, lot data is extracted and the quality control team utilizes data on tendencies, etc.,while skilled workers carry out visual checks, resulting in a more rigorous quality control system.
